ID Requirements for Exam Day
You must present two forms of government-issued identification on exam day. Here’s what’s required:
- One ID must have your photo.
- Both IDs must have your signature.
Acceptable Forms of Identification:
- U.S. Passport
- U.S. Military ID Card (Active duty, retired, or dependent)
- Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
- Veteran ID Card
- Native American Tribal Photo ID
- State-Issued Driver’s License
- State-Issued Non-Driver ID Card
- State-Issued Learner’s Permit
- Driver's License or ID from Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, or Northern Mariana Islands
Official Digital driver’s licenses are acceptable if presented digitally, but one form of ID must be paper (non-laminated).
Failure to Present Proper ID
If you do not present the correct forms of identification, you will not be allowed to take the exam.
Unfortunately, your exam fee will not be refunded, and you may need to reschedule and pay again.
Name Discrepancies
The name on your IDs must exactly match the name you used when registering for the exam, including suffixes and hyphens.
If your name has changed, follow these steps at least 10 calendar days before your scheduled exam:
- Log into your Credentia account.
- Submit a Demographics Application and upload the official documentation showing your name change (e.g., marriage certificate, court order, etc.).
Important: If the name on your ID does not match your registration name, you will not be allowed to take the exam and may have to pay again to reschedule.
